Here it is, the real French team!
Facing the Dominican Republic on Thursday night, Thierry Henry’s selection had a great evening in Toulon. Once the engine started, they then cruised, led by a very good Alexandre Lacazette and an excellent Michael Olise. The evening’s festival began with a goal from Enzo Millot, at the end of a beautiful team play. Lacazette scored a brace, well served by Adrien Truffert for his first goal, then perfectly positioned after a scramble to finish with his left foot. The man of the match, Olise, also scored a brace, capitalizing on good work from Arnaud Kalimuendo first, then with a brilliant half-volley after a poor clearance from the opposing defense. Substituted in a little earlier, Maghnes Akliouche scored a tap-in thanks to a perfect pass from Lesley Ugochukwu. Rayan Cherki also got on the scoresheet with a nice low strike at the final whistle.

It’s probably difficult for Thierry Henry to draw many lessons from this game, as the opposition was not at the level of his team. However, they are in a very good momentum, two weeks away from the start of the Olympics, and that’s the main thing.
